THINGS YOU WANT TO KNOW


You and your guests are about to embark on a unique culinary journey! We are creating an authentic style lobster clambake without using pots or digging a pit in your yard. The Lobster clambake is cooked fresh right in front of you, while you and your guests enjoy appetizers and cocktails. The bake will take approximately 4 hours from set up to breakdown. 


They will begin to set up and prepare right before your eyes.  All the food will be steam cooked simultaneously over saltwater rockweed blending the flavors naturally, creating a chorus of mmm, mmm. Whether on your patio, backyard or on your private beach, your guests will love being part of this experience.


How do they do it?

Your Long Island Chowda Co. BakeMaster(s) (included in price) and Captain ( additional labor fee) will arrive at your home or designated event address 1 1/2 hours prior to the pre-determined serving time.  They will set up their preparation and serving area and get your feast cooking right before your eyes.  The basic timeline is: an hour and a half after we arrive the starter course of chowda or salad will be served.  20 minutes after the starter course, the main course will be served, then 40-50 minutes after your guests feast, dessert will be displayed.  The Captains will set up/ break down buffet and pack up any leftovers in to-go containers provided by us for easy storage.  We will bag the trash and put in the designated area before we leave.  Once we are all cleaned up, final payment is due.


Your Long Island Chowda Co. BakeMaster(s) are included in the per person price of the lobster clambake. Additional Captains ($135 per captain) are required and will be determined based on how many people being served, the menu chosen and any shucking, plating services etc. Please call for details. We can also provide waitstaff including bartenders so you can be a guest at your own party.  Gratuity for the staff is not included in the price.

What about the weather?

The weather can be tricky these days and we understand that.  Should mother nature decide to "rain on your clambake" please let us know 48 hours prior if you would like to postpone/ re-schedule your event with us.  We will do our best to accommodate your new date request depending on availability.


Payment

10% due at time of approved proposal to secure date
80% due 14 days prior
Final payment (10%) due day of event
We accept checks, cash and Major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express as payment.  Checks will not be accepted as final payment.


Cancellation

An unforeseen circumstances may require you to cancel.  Please notify us as soon as you know that way we can work with you.  The following policy is in place for cancellations:

Cancellations made up to 30 days prior to the event date will be refunded  half of your deposit, unless you reschedule a date within the next 6 months in which case, the full 10% deposit will be put towards the newly scheduled event. Only 1 reschedule/ postponement per deposit.
Cancellations made between 30 days and up to 2 weeks prior to your event will forfeit your deposit.
Cancellations made within 2 weeks prior to the scheduled event will forfeit all monies paid up until that time.


We are not a mass production company and only cater 1 event at a time.  Because we hold the date for each client, it is unavailable to anyone else wishing to book us on that day, therefore explaining our cancellation policy.
